Ted Bachmann earned the
Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1973 from the University
of Tulsa. In 1975, he received the Master of Music Education
from TU. During the ’73-’74 school year, he served as Graduate
Assistant in the band department. While at TU, Mr. Bachmann was
a student of Dwight Dailey (clarinet, saxophone) and Jan Coffey
Dailey (flute). Mr. Bachmann taught at Northeastern State
University in Tahlequah as Adjunct Professor of Woodwinds during
the 1974-75 academic year. The fall of 1975 began a 23 year
tenure with Jenks Public Schools. In 1998, Mr. Bachmann and his
family moved to the Houston area and he taught in the Fort Bend
ISD in Sugar Land until 2004. In 2004, Mr. Bachmann moved back
to Tulsa and taught in Sand Springs (’04-’06) and Union
(’06-’08), retiring after 33 years in the public schools. Ted
Bachmann has performed professionally with the Tulsa
Philharmonic Orchestra, Tulsa Starlight Band, the Miss Oklahoma
Pageant, Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, Theatre
Tulsa, American Theatre Company, and the TCC Community Band. He
has appeared with local performances of Mel Tormé,
Red Skelton, The Temptations, Brenda Lee, Patti Page, B.J.
Thomas, Leslie Uggams, and many others.
