Instructor Bios

Rachel Boyce’s involvement with music began at a very young age.  She first began playing piano in the 2nd grade and then began playing the clarinet when she entered 6th grade at Owasso Public Schools.  During the 6th grade, Rachel switched to saxophone, while still continuing to play clarinet.  She was a member of the All-District Honor Band for six years and also made the All-State band for three years.  Towards her later years in high school, Rachel began picking up different woodwind instruments, such as flute, bass clarinet, and oboe.

Rachel attended Oklahoma State University for four years and was privileged enough to make the OSU Wind Ensemble and toured England and Japan performing.  She then began picking up even more instruments, such as trombone, baritone, and tuba.   After her tenure at OSU, she joined Union Public Schools as an Assistant Band Director from 2006-2009.  Rachel has always enjoyed working with students and music and makes learning music creative and fun.  She looks forward to working with you.
