Since 1853, Steinway pianos have set an uncompromising standard for sound, touch, beauty, and investment value. Handcrafting each Steinway requires up to one full year – creating an instrument of rare quality and global renown. Not surprisingly, Steinway remains the choice of 9 out of 10 concert artists, and countless pianists, composers, and performers around the world.

Model A Parlor Grand

Its slightly longer keys give the player a sense of heightened sensitivity and control. The size of this piano is large enough to satisfy those who demand a full, rich bassyet small enough to beautifully fit into almost any home.

Length: 6’ 2’’ (188 cm)

Width: 57 ¾’’ (147 cm)

Weight: 695 pounds (approx. 315 kg)

The Steinway designed Boston Piano - long unrivaled in its class and unmatched in value - has been significantly enhanced with the introduction of the new Performance Edition. The Boston Performance Edition features improvements in materials, specifications, and performance never before seen in the mid-price range.

A maple inner rim, found in only the finest pianos, increases structural integrity and improves the tone by isolating the soundboard. The patented Octagrim™ Pinblock provides a smoother pin turn and more consistent pin torque, leading to a more precise tuning.

As the preferred piano of major Music Festivals, including Aspen, Tanglewood, Brevard, and Bowdoin, the Boston piano has received rave reviews from prestigious music publications, as well as, performing artists, music conservatories and piano educators worldwide.

The Steinway-designed Essex piano incorporates the latest design specifications and engineering standards from Steinway & Sons. In keeping with Steinway's commitment to excellence, Steinway & Sons provides technical assistance for the production of Essex pianos, to insure that Essex pianos are made to the specifications established by Steinway. And every Essex instrument is inspected by a team of highly experienced Steinway & Sons trained technicians before it leaves the factory.
