To Adam Gann, drums are not
just an instrument, they’re a way of life. He started playing
the drums when he was 8 and the passion is still growing. It
wasn’t until about five years ago that he was thrown into the
immense world of polyrhythmic study and jazz. After he found his
love for jazz, Adam wanted more. He has had training in just
about every style of music and has been taught under Gary
Sullivan, Steve Craft, Angie Garcia, Justin Walke, and Scott
Musik. Last year he broke the record in his TTC Broadcast Sound
Engineering class for playing drums and appearing on more than
20 demos, more than anyone in the programs history. He has
played with such bands as TBG, Dalton Bivins Trio, Cody Clinton
and the Bishops, Joshua Arbah, Dr. Spenny, and Zach Lund. He is
currently majoring in Music Education and is taking classes in
Music Theory, Composition, Aural Theory, and will be joining the
TCC Jazz Big Band in the Fall. He is teaching all ages and all
styles and wants to share the love he has for this instrument
with you.
