Charissa graduated with honors from ORU with a Bachelors degree in piano with an emphasis in flute.  She has studied under the expert tutelage of Joyce Bridgeman, Dr. Sylvia Coates, John Rush and Dr. Kate Bergman.  she has extensive experience playing in ensemble performance milieus such as orchestra, jazz combo, wind ensemble, church band and various groupings from duets to small groups.  Her solo playing in both flute and piano includes classical recitals while she also has experience participating in competitions and festivals at both the local and state level.  She is currently a member of Broken Arrow Music Teachers Association and the Oklahoma Music Teachers association: Broken Arrow chapter where she is currently working towards her certification at the national level in both flute and piano.  This gives her students access to many different opportunities fro musical scholarship and development throughout the year including the District and State Achievement Auditions, the Spring Competition and various Play-a-Thons and festivals.

Charissa has experience teaching all ages and levels of ability.  Whether a student is interested in playing, reading and writing music, music theory, arranging, basic composition, jazz, blues, improvisation, accompaniment, church music, pop, light contemporary, classical or if you are not sure, Charissa is excited about making music memorable, artistic and fun!
